After beginning her career as a prosecutor for the Cook County (IL) State’s Attorney’s Office, Pam Paziotopoulos has developed and presented many training sessions on the topics of domestic violence, stalking, and workplace violence to such organizations as NASA, the Smithsonian Institution, the Albanian national police, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Sidley and Austin, and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Pam has appeared as an expert commentator on domestic and workplace violence on CNN, CNBC, WGN, and the Oprah Winfrey Show as well as other local and national radio and news stations. Additionally, she has been a consultant on workplace violence guidelines and standards for the FBI, the American Society of Industrial Security, the Society of Human Resources Management, and the American Bar Association and has authored many articles and chapters for books on the issues of domestic violence, stalking, and workplace violence.
As Senior Vice President for Forest Advisors, Pam conducted workshops on workplace violence and intimate partner abuse that included training for threat assessment teams, policy development, and employee-wide education.
After returning to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office as Supervisor of the Domestic Violence Division, she monitored the prosecution of thousands of domestic violence cases while creating new policies, programs, and procedures for the division. She also served as the Director of Public Affairs and the Violence Against Women Policy Advisor to State’s Attorney Richard A. Devine.
Pam contributed her expertise in domestic violence, stalking and workplace violence issues to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s transition team. Appointed by Governor Bruce Rauner, she is a member of on the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority Board.
As a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in Speech Communications with a law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Pam currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law and teaches a course on intimate partner violence at Kent College of Law.
As a two-time cancer survivor, Pam also acts as a mentor to others recently diagnosed with cancer and is frequently interviewed by the media on tools and strategies to heal from cancer. Pam owns and operates the Paziotopoulos Group, Ltd. (pampaz.com).
